Phil Morgan has been a reporter for 50 years. He worked for 36 years at the Tampa Tribune and 10 years at the Tampa Bay Times (formerly the St. Petersburg Times). IHe has covered courts, police, city and county government, poverty and social aid programs. He has worked on an investigative team and spent three decades as a general assignment feature writer. Phil grew up in Miami, graduated from the University of Florida in 1970 and started his first job that fall at the Lakeland Ledger.
